Attorney Richard H. Stannard III
Attorney Stannard transitioned to a career in the law after spending nearly a decade working in sports broadcasting and media operations, including five years with the National Football League.
Attorney Stannard attended Quinnipiac University School of Law and served as president of the school's Mock Trial Society. In that capacity, he guided the trial competition team to its most successful year in the school's history. He was a member of the championship-winning team at the 2012 Criminal Justice Trial Advocacy Competition sponsored by the American Bar Association. He was also a member a team that reached the national quarterfinals in the ABA John Marshall Law School National Criminal Justice Trial Competition. His efforts earned him the Oberst Mock Trial Award from the law school for his outstanding service to the Mock Trial Society.
While in law school, Attorney Stannard worked with the Office of the State's Attorney for the Judicial District of Stamford as a certified legal intern. He later worked as a legal assistant at Goldblatt, Marquette & Rashba, P.C., in Hamden before joining Drapp & Jaumann, LLC in January 2014.
During his time at Drapp & Jaumann, LLC, Attorney Stannard's primary practice has been criminal defense litigation. He has representing clients charged with crimes ranging from kidnapping to drug sales to possession of firearms. He has tried several jury cases to verdict and prevented multiple convictions through his skilled advocacy. He also regularly represents clients in juvenile matters, including children charged with juvenile delinquency as well as parents in child protection proceedings.
Attorney Stannard is a member of the Connecticut Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association.
